The 2011-12 arts season at Jamestown College begins with a performance by the world-renowned double reed ensemble New York Kammermusiker at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 6 in the Reiland Fine Arts Center’s DeNault Auditorium. Showcasing the sounds of oboes, bassoons and English horns, the New York Kammermusiker travels the world presenting a wide range of music, from the Renaissance through Contemporary periods, including many American works. Experiment and improvisation, as well as music written specifically for their unique sound, are important aspects of this group’s repertoire.
